Surgical Services
Your pet’s safety and comfort is our top priority during any surgical procedure. Our state-of-the-art sterile surgical suite is equipped for a wide range of procedures, including:
- orchidectomy (neuter)
- ovariohysterectomy (spay)
- cryptorchidectomy (cryptorchid neuter)
- soft tissue mass removal/biopsy
- bladder stone removal
- laceration repair
- gastrointestinal exploratory/foreign body removal
- eye enucleation
- Cesarian-section
- limb amputation
For orthopedic and more specialized surgical procedures, we refer our patients to local board-certified surgeons.
Elective surgeries such as spays and neuters receive the same high-quality care and careful anesthetic monitoring as exploratory surgeries and complicated mass removals. We provide careful anesthetic monitoring by a dedicated Certified Veterinary Technician throughout the procedure. We also work with board-certified anesthesiologist Dr. Heidi Shafford on higher-risk cases. See ANESTHESIA for more information.
Pain control before, during, and after all surgical procedures help ensure your pet’s comfort, reducing stress and aiding in the healing process. Most of our surgical procedures are performed on an out-patient basis—patients are admitted early in the morning and go home in the late afternoon or evening. Our detailed written instructions for post-operative care will help you providing nursing care for your pet after he or she comes home.
